All our pouched rats are handled from birth, daily and consistantly. As a result of this we can produce fully hand tamed and socialised babies. We begin harness and clicker training our babies from 5 weeks onwards, and they are ready to got to their new homes at 8 weeks old.
Anyone interested in homing one of our babies must fill out our screening form. This is purely so we can ensure that all our babies go to the best possible homes. Until a sales contract has been completed which we are happy with, and a deposit recieved (within 1 week from the date we inform you we have accepted your screening form), the baby will not be classed as reserved and will be sold on a first come first served basis. A sales contract will also have to be signed on the day you collect your pouchie so we can keep a record of where they have gone, and to form an agreement between us and the new owner.
Deposit required: If you wish to reserve a baby from a current litter we will request a non-refundable deposit of £50 (after we tell you we have accepted your screening form). This is used to show commitment to purchase from buyer to breeder and to ensure that none of our pouched rats are left without a home at the last minute.
All buyers and prospective buyers are allowed to visit our premises to view and handle (if wanted) our current available babies and their parents (appointment only). We feel this is a good way for you to see the pouched rats in their normal enclosures, so you can get an idea of their behaviour and cage size/entertainment requirements. It also allows you to see the babies as they develop, and in turn gets them used to being around new people.
Please note: You must be over the age of 18 to buy any animal from us, or otherwise accompanied by an adult and have your parents permission.
All gambian pouched rat babies are £250 each and come with:
A care guide Birth certificate Small bag of food Small bag of bedding Harness & lead A clicker
